yes, and with the same reason in mind :-)

you can use the www site, but for downloads ftp is the preferred
protocol, and there are more things on the ftp site to find. simply try
both.

for that, you should consider to buy a book with some basic linux
instructions. rpm ist the standard redhat command for installing,
querying and uninstalling "rpm" software packages. rpm is very good but
somewhat complex. you need shell access for that (telnet is to insecure,
use ssh).

if you are not only cobalt but a linux newbie : "Das Einsteigerseminar
Linux", BHV Verlag, is sufficient for basic knowledge and doesn`t cost
much. There lacks only some redhat specific stuff (rpm...), but you
should find some kind of "Redhat Beginners Guide" or something similar
on the web. a good point to start is www.linuxdoc.org.

i don`t know how to remove *.pkg files; did you search the mailing list
? (i think they are a kind of *.rpm files, too).

no idea; there are different quotas for a site (web) and for the users
of that site. their quota, however, is for THEIR personal webspace in
the user directory below the main site, and their mail (at least i
think)

there should be a possibility to limit the size of a users mailbox by
sendmail (or related programs) itself, but sendmail is *very* complex

i don`t use one. i think there should be commercial or free programs to
do that job.

hope that it helps a bit :-)

for conversation in german, you can contact me off-list.
