[cobalt-users] newbie needs help
Hello,
let me first introduce myself: my name is Florian, I am 17 years old
and together with some friends, I will set-up my first Cobalt RaQ (2,
3 or 3i, I don't know yet). We have been hosting on a decicated one
and now the big day is coming: we get our one one ;-)
So I have some questions in advance. I downloaded the manuals from
the cobalt.com, but haven't found any answers, maybe you can help? ;-)
1. Where should I look for upgrades? ftp.cobalt.com or
http://emea.cobalt.com/support/download/index.html ? I have found
some files on ftp.cobalt.com and they are not listened on the HTTP
page.
2. Is POP-before-SMTP already possible? I have heard that it is only
possible with an "experimental" package?
3. What's the "uninstall" command to remove files? Do I have to
invoke it with telnet?
4. Is ssh supported?
5. Which additional tools do I need?
6. Where can I set the time when a log file should be compressed and
saved in the /logs folder? On our current, dedicated server, after
10% of the space of a presence is used, the file is being TARed and
GZipped and saved in /logs and a new one is started. When that one is
being compressed, too, the first one gets deleted. So I always have
to files: access.1 and access.1.tar.gz
7. Is it possible to separate the POP3 space and the web space?
8. Is there a good tool to control traffic? I want to get warnings,
when 1. a site and/or user is over their limit and 2. the whole
server is over its limit.
Thanks a lot in advance and a nice weekend to everyone,
(And sorry for so many questions :)
Florian
