Mailman is pretty easy to install. Our user's like it, it
automatically generates and maintains web based archives, is easy to
administer and administration is web based and quite intuitive.
It's pretty secure too. We had an "e-commerce consulting
firm" run a bot against one of our lists about two months ago. One
never really knows about these kind of things but my best guess is
that they we're running a database of user names against it in order
to find some valid ones. Mailman took the beating well and didn't
give away any clues.
The downside is that I can't possibly see how it could be
installed without breaking the warranty as it requires a script
alias or two to be added to the httpd.conf file.
Peace be with you,
Brent
