I have just started a small web hosting business for my small business web
design clients after having problems with re-seller accounts and such. I
got a Raq3 for my hosting and DNS and a Qube for true secondary DNS and a
server for my personal site. Grand Total : $2800 Pretty darn good I
thought.

I have used *nix systems as a user only while at school so I do not consider
myself an expert by any means, but I know how to use pico and move around.
You know the basics. I have always considered my self a very fast learner
(this is key with Coblat boxes). I found it very easy to setup both boxes
and get the basics up and running. This list has been invaluable!! I can
think of at least 2 instances where cobalt support was unable or unwilling
to help in any reasonalble time frame and people on this list saved my butt.
At first I jest ran the boes as they were intended and made sure I
understood the basics while reading the archives to learn from others
problems. Soon I was comfortable enough to try mode advanced things. I
bought and installed the Urchin statistics package and installed the x86
Linux version (since no cobalt specific is available for Raq3) and installed
ssh on both my cobalt boxes. I could not be more happy with the cobalt
Raq3. Sure there are some annoyances, and Cobalt support needs to catch up
with their user base but I KNOW that I am a zillion times more stable with
less work than an NT setup. Cheaper too. The only thing that I am still
working on is an easy backup solution. Each time I make a site I make a
scheduled backup that goes to a Windows machine on my network that has an
80gig DLT. I have tested restoring them and it has worked so far.

So to sum up for my .02 cents, I think the Raq3 is a great web hosting
platform. Just make sure as with anything you know the pro's and con's.
