I've had to use another dialup to access my own servers on several occasions b/c they
were invisible to my BAL (Bell Atlantic) ADSL connection.

Tell me about it. I do the same thing. In this case, I have any number of annoying
alternatives to get my email to its destination. But it only helps if I know the
email didn't (or isn't going to) get to its location in the first place. Some mail
servers are kind enough to bounce my email back to me; others do nothing. When they
do nothing I only find out after someone informs me they didn't get the email they
expected.

$70 billion BAL should be able to do the same, shouldn't they? They were kind enough
to call me today to see if my problem was persisting, but when they asked me to check
my browser settings I knew that the email tech on the other end was clueless! On a
related, off-topic note, I have not switched my residential # which is listed in Bell
Atlantic's Yellow Pages for Pizza Hut. I still get a couple dozen calls a day, but
I've come to enjoy them. Today on my voicemail one person asked if we were hiring,
two people placed orders, two asked us to call them back b/c they wanted to order and
one person had a conversation with someone in their room three times in a row. And
my greeting is clearly for a residence!
