I am not sure but I think the only thing to do is to make sure you have the proper mime type declared (something like application/x-schockwave-flash , file extension being .swf, you can look it up in Netscape Helper Applications). This is to be added I think in the mime.types file which is an Apache configuration file either directly or by using the AddType directive (but I am no Apache guru, so you better wait for specialists answers..).
