[cobalt-users] Kernel patching on a RaQ2 *please help*

Hi everyone,...
Well.. i want to see how much traffic (bandwith) in mb (not in packets)
makes a user on my box in a month ( or day or whatever).
Well.. i checked nearly every radius-software out there but i didi not find
a good one. and i only wanna see how much traffic a user makes...and so on.

I know found a kernel-patch which shall add this feature to my kernel...
BUT.... i don´t know if i shall use it....

i use 2.0.34 kernel with the Security: MIPS Kernel Update 1.0 from Cobalt
on a RaQ2.

the package from http://www.sin.khk.be/ipacct/ (please take a look on it)
includes a patch for the 2.0.38 kernel....

can i patch my 2.0.34 kernel with the 2.0.38 kernel ?! or will it destroy my
kernel ?

Well i do not wanna use it ...if it crashes my box....
but i don´t know HOW to patch my kernel on my RaQ2 ...

So is there anyone out there who knows how to patch (and recompile) a
kernel on a RaQ2 ?

If yes please mail me with a step by step ...how to patch a kernel ;)

thanks a lot...

And please help me

Bye
Andrea
