[cobalt-users] ssh and updates

Like Amanda, I'm a newbie.  So pardon my ignorance.
 
ssh - I've downloaded PuTTY but haven't used it yet.  Do I need to install anything on the Quebe 2 to make it work on that end?  Is it similar to telnet?
 
updates - Are there any updates that I should be applying to the Quebe 2 and if so, where do I get it and instructions to install?
