Re: [cobalt-users] Using a RaQ 2/3 as NS1/NS2 servers

Though others have responded, I thought I'd add my two cents worth
(though a bit late, since I've been so busy lately). And yes, my last
name is "Lasman" <grin>.

Yes.

If you're going to do it by hand, I'd use the RaQ2. If you're going to
use the gui interface I'd use the RaQ3, as the RaQ2's interface has some
real deficiencies in setting up DNS.

Our ns4.ns-one.net is a RaQ2; we run DNS on it manually.

An awful lot. Your RaQ2 can easily keep up with a few T-1s worth of
input while doing only DNS, especially if it's got a lot of memory. A
RaQ2 with 64 mb of memory and on a high-speed line could probably run a
few thousand domains worth of DNS and still have lots of resources left
over for a few thousand more.

Sorry, question makes no sense; a machine obviously uses it's entire
harddrive. Please restate your question.

Personally, I don't breathe with less than 64 mb of RAM. Your mileage
may vary, but probably shouldn't.

If you've only got a few hundred domains, it's probably enough, though.

Nah, after all, my name is "Lasman" <smile>.
