Just thought I'd drop my thoughts in on this thread. Being a PCAnywhere
user myself, I have to say it is a dog, even over a 10Mbps connection, let
alone a dial-up or ISDN. I now exclusivly use VNC, which is a java based,
in-the-browser remote control application that blows PCAnywhere out of the
water when it comes to speed. I have yet to find a function that PCAnywhere
provided over VNC. Plus its open-source and availble for plenty of
platforms including X11/Linux. Obviously you would run this for command
line, but its great for running a X session over your browser. I believe
www.mywebos.com is using a modified version of this proggie to implement
their business. Sure gives you a site into where things are headed in the
future.
I have no affliation with mywebos.com - just thought it was cool as hell
when I came across it.
Oh and hte link for VNC is:
http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/
Thanks
Daniel
