That is exactly what they are talking about. Which is a really lame way to
have to administer your server, let me tell you. Proprietary technology
that's a hack to use a proprietary operating system over a network. I have
administered many servers (Mac, NT, etc.) using TImbuktu, PCAnywhere, etc.,
and never really liked having to do it.

This is one place that all of the *nix os's really shine. It was designed
to be run completely from remote, or completely headless. Pretty cool
stuff.

Incidentally, if you have to use software such as this, try giving VNC a
shot, runs on Windows, Mac, X, WindowsCE, Palm, etc. OpenSource, & free.
Really hip. Doesn't even really need a client--can use a java application
on a mini-webserver on the remote workstation. I really like VNC for doing
that sort of stuff. Works great for remote troubleshooting a client's
PeeCee or Mac when you can't or don't want to go over to their office/house.

It suppose you *could* use it (like in VMWare, but Linux has better methods
built in.

BTW: Congrats on making the plunge to Linux. I think you'll be glad you
did.
