A good web ring allows the viewer to see a decription of the various sites
in the ring.

Ah...but there is NO requirement for standardized locations, no more than
there is a requirement for standardized content.

A good web ring may even include a search engine that lets you find
specific information.  It may also give you the ability to view the most
popular searches.
