Difficult to say in this forum right off the bat. Control should not be
difficult though. When I pay my cisco contract, I get a "login" and password
that provides access to online help, downloads, updates, etc. Same with
Nortel and patton. I would imagine a fairly simple structure where
people/sites/whatever that have paid their "support" contract would get
access to whatever was available. A "list" function could keep everyone
informed about what is there and what are "critical" updates, reliability
updates, and so forth...

The caution here is that the further we "drive" this into a "paid" support
posture - the more people will dump their blue boxes and go to something else
- which will kill Cobalt much quicker than Sun dropping it. Low (meaning
reasonable) priced support - with lists such as this one to help those either
struggling or starting out with something will keep the boxes going long
after the Sun logo has faded....
