I don't believe it is. I think you can still mount and read the partition;
you
just won't have journaling support for it.

I'm kinda lost now.
How can I mount the partitions on the old disk when fdisk -l returns this
for the old disk with raq550 OS:
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdd1 1 8127 4096007+ fd Linux raid autodetect
/dev/hdd2 8128 11175 1536192 fd Linux raid autodetect
/dev/hdd3 11176 12216 524664 fd Linux raid autodetect
/dev/hdd4 12217 77545 32925816 fd Linux raid autodetect
mount -t ext2 gives a wrong filetype.
The Raq550 OS on the old disk was installed in a raq550 box with only one
disk.
