RE: [cobalt-users] Shall we move the Cobalt List?

My views on this issue are that Bruce proved to be a very fair and competent
List Manager in the past and I would imagine would continue to do so. I
would have no hesitation in joining a list with Bruce as List Manager.

However, having seen previous lists fall apart in this kind of situation,
due to peoples personal agendas, old rivalries and the like, I feel that
before anything else, the community should work together to petition the
powers that be at Sun to continue the list.

Perhaps the VP Marketing at Sun, would appreciate several hundred emails
from individuals on this list asking for his/her intervention.

I know Craig has announced the list will close, but I feel it is only fair
that we know Who has taken this decision and only fair as customers that we
have a right of appeal, or at least an opportunity to put our views across.

I just feel it is wrong to just give up and accept the list is gone, Sun in
my opinion have an obligation to keep it going.

When I got my RAQ, one of the reasons I chose it, was because there was a
good user group sponsored by the company.
I view that as part of my contract to purchase.

To remove that part of my contract with very little notice or discussion is
frankly unacceptable.

My earlier post asking Craig for a contact email at Sun for the appropriate
person responsible has gone unanswered, I still want that information.

If anyone shares my view, I would urge you to petition Sun.

Is Vivek Joshi still VP marketing ?
