First I need to thank this list and it's members for taking the time to
discuss these issues with me.
Ok, I am running a raq3 w/ raq4 OS. It is located at 68.117.108.42. I have
a single static IP. Use Zoneedit.com for my DNS server. Hosting multiple
sites using virtual hosting. I would like to offer email to my clients. My
ISP is Charter.net. It is cable. I am considering a fractional T1 later if
I can make this work.
I set up mx records for mail.circlesystemsinc.com, and for secondary mx I
created something I called wildmail.circlesytemsinc.com. I probably should
have used
smtp.circlesystemsinc.com. I have three more rack servers, one with dual
xeon processors, one with dual PIII processors and one Athlon. All running
windows 2000 server. The xeon seems to host the multiple site fine, just
have problems with the mail again. Oh and my email address I am using is
from a different ISP that the server is located on. Should I set up the
other machines to act as DNS and MX servers? Will that help in
"legitimizing" my presence on the web?
I guess I am getting confused as to which way to go next.
Also just got this email from root(Cron deamon) to root:
zcat: stdout: Broken pipe
zcat: stdout: Broken pipe
this went on and on.........
Thanks again.
