I've always thought Steve Bassi's package was the best free solution out there.
That's what I found out so far, too. Besides it needs that F-Prot-Update and Mailscanner is old. But if it works, it's O.K.
I can't find a free package on zeffie.com; his site lists a commercial Virus Filter based on Clam Antivurs, but it's not free. Under "Free Cobalt Packages" he lists only his "artwork package" and his "sendmail.cf builder package".
Mhh... it's declared as "beta" -> http://www.zeffie.com/beta/MailScanner/And it's only the mailscanner. But Zeffi's is much newer (4.23) then Bassis's (3.22). And there's some work to do in the sendmail.cf which isn't documented ;)
Of course Zeffi want's to sell his products... :) Regards, Frank
