[cobalt-users] 2nd cpu in XTR? & should 550 os be used on new XTR?

I have searched the list and found nothing on this. I know this just means
this is probably a stupid question but I can't resist. I have just acquired
what was a supposedly new (it's not) in box XTR with the 733 cpu. There is a
spot for a second cpu. It has the sticker on it that says "single cpu only".
BUT there is that second socket just begging for another cpu. Is it
possible? If so would the XTR os recognize and use the second cpu?

I thought the XTR's were pretty cool but after reading a lot of stuff out
there I see they are not highly regarded. Should I start out by upgrading
this XTR to the 550 OS? I have found just enough info about some people
doing this to raise my curiosity and wonder if I should go this direction.
If it is a good idea has some one written a how-to about this? Or is it as
simple as getting a 550 os restore cd and running it?

Would I be better off just going to a vanilla box with redhat Fedora and
ensim basic? The box needs to host a few sites and mostly do email for a
small ISP. By the way what webmail package works well for the XTR's? I all
ready have a 4U vanilla Linux box with dual 550 PIII, 512 MB and SCSI
drives.

I can install and get working redhat 7, 8 or 9 server no problem even for
multiple domains with the help of webmin (very cool) but getting email to
work for multiple domains is more then I can seem to handle. This is where &
why the XTR or ensim basic box is needed. Thanks for any help/advice you
guys can give me.

P.S Sorry if I have tried to cover too many things here but it seemed the
right thing to do rather then ask each separately and generate all that
extra email traffic.
