[cobalt-users] Front Page Passwords Not Required

One of our clients has found that whenever he publishes using FrontPage
2000 on a RaQ2, no matter what, he does not have to enter a password.

I've tried it, too.

I had FP98 on my system, but I upgraded it to FP2000 to test out the
situation.

I created a brand new website on the RaQ using it's own IP#.

I loaded it into the browser, and got the default Cobalt RaQ page.

I did NOT create any users for the site.

Then, in FP2000, I chose a site I'd published elsewhere before, and
tried publishing it to his RaQ2 using FP2000 and the site's IP#, since
there's no DNS set up for this test site. Front Page 2000 published the
site to the RaQ2 without asking for a password.

When Front Page 2000 was done publishing the site, I viewed it in my
browser, updating it so it would reload from the server.

The default Cobalt RaQ page had been replaced by the site I had created,
indicating that yes, Front Page 2000 did NOT need a password to upload a
site on his RaQ2.

Then I tried the same thing on MY RaQ2. On my RaQ2, Front Page 2000 DID
ask for a password.

Obviously, there's a problem, but I don't know where.

Here's the list of installed packages on my client's RaQ2 (the one that
did NOT require a password:

> All-Kernel_mips Release 1.0
> Cobalt OS Release 4.0
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.0
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.1
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.2
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.3
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.7
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.91
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.92
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.93
> RaQ2-Security Release 2.94
> RaQ2-Update-MFG Release 2.1
> RaQ2-Update-OS Release 1.0
> RaQ2-Update-OS Release 2.0

Here's a much shorter list of the installed packages on MY RaQ2 (the one
that DOES require a password:

> Cobalt OS Release 4.0
> Miva Empresa Release 3.62
> Miva Merchant Bundle Package (RaQ2) Release 2.00
> RaQ2-Update-OS Release 2.0
> Red Hat Secure Web Server Release 3

So which is more likely correct? What is causing this problem?

Anyone have any ideas? Cobalt? Anyone else?
