That has nothing to do with it.
You always connect to a machine with and IP address, DNS just allows you to
use hostnames, but the connection is always made via TCP/IP from IP address
to IP address. Machines that are connected to like to do DNS lookups on the
IP address connection, it easy reporting and can be used to verify that the
person connection is not spoofing, etc.
