You really shouldn't run both primary and secondary DNS on the same server. The reason Network Solutions and other companies require two servers is because they know how easily it is for your domains and email to disappear from the net during even a slight network disruption (and yes, all networks have them) if you've only gone one dns server.
The Internet runs a lot better if you've got primary and secondary DNS on separate servers, preferably on separate networks.
