RE: [cobalt-users] help! cgiwrap problem
Hi,
We encountered this same problem with scripts that either created files or
were writing to files such as counters and wwwboards. We had to manually
change the user the script was running under as well as change the user for
'ALL' the files it had created in order for them to function properly again.
In some case it was also necessary to modify the permissions of the files
created and change them for example from 644 to 664. It was the cgi-wrap
update that has caused all your grief.
Each site seems to require a different user for these scripts to run under,
you will have to experiment a bit with this.
Does anyone know of a quick way of doing these changes for a whole server?
We are still manually updating files a week later on just one of the servers
for our customers. It would be nice if we were made aware of the possible
effects these updates would have on our servers before we install them. :)
Best wishes,
Ali & Charlie
