Ahh, it is worth it.  I have take a couple of RaQ2s and make the Qube2.

There is quite a bit of software that works on the MIPS platform.  Other than
hardware support, porting software to the MIPS arch is fairly easy.  If
there is some particular you are looking for, let me know.

There are plenty of people on the Cobalt Developers list, if he really wants to learn how to install Linux from source without buying the CD-ROM. I'm sure that long before he's done he'll wish he'd bought the CD <smile>.
