This is because you do not have your DNS server setup correctly. Go to Control
Panel then to Network. The Primary and Secondary DNS servers are not setup
correctly there. If you are leasing this server you should contact your host and
ask them what the correct DNS servers are. If you are running DNS on your
machine then your Primary should be the IP of your server and the secondary of a
"real" DNS server. It can resolve local addresses because they are local and
setup correctly, but it is unable to resolve external addresses because it
cannont access a correct DNS server.
