Interesting. It actually worked.
So to do this, I have to point the email to the mail server and not the
domain.com only?
It works but one would think domain.com would suffice.
Any possible way around this so everytime I need to forward mail to an
external address, I don't need to find out their server's mail domain?
Perhaps a setting or a configuration file needs adjusted?

Alan,
I don't know if this will work, but have you tried forwarding to
@xxx.yahoo.com, where xxx= the mail server and not just @yahoo.com?
