Thanks for your *very* documented answer :-)
We weren't using any extra software, just the buitl in push method of the
Qube.
Maybe (after this) we can better can start using FTP or one of the
suggested ways.

What backup software are you using to backup SMB?

Are you using the Qube software to write the backup to a remote SMB share
(i.e. push) or are you using software on a remote Windows platform to
backup
the SMB shares on the Qube (i.e. pull)?
