Kevin,

What I did to allow users to see sites in progress while DNS resolves works well for me.

Take a site you own, and create a sub-domain with that companies name i.e.
IBCinc.anysite.com  use any IP you want for the sub-domain, one separate from the domain
itself works well, and add all your files for testing and the client.  When you go final,
just move the files over to the new URL and delete (or meta refresh) the sub-domain.
It's pretty painless.
