[cobalt-users] Qube 2 loses IP, and reboots over and over...

We have a PRODUCTION!!!! (I don't know who the idiot was that put this
in place!).
Qube 2 that has gone on the fritz.
When iot reboots, it boots up showing the IP on the LCD as 0.0.0.0, also
the Primary network interface link light only blinks for a few seconds
when the box first powers on, then the link light goes out (and stays
out).
So I then choose "Select"
"Setup Network"
"Enter"
And low and behold, the IP info I put in is still there, so I hit Enter
(all this is on the LCD of course).
for the IP, ad Enter for the subnet mask, and enter for the gateway,
then
"Y" to [S]ave.
It then shows
"Verifying and Saving"
then starts shutting down services, then the link light comes on, and
the ip can respond to pings, until it finishes shutting down, and starts
it boot up procedure all over again. THIS IS UNBELIVEABLE!!!! Is it
going into some sort of single user mode? Unfortunately whoever
designed the the box, and added the serial port, only made the port
usable for a modem to be hooked up, rather than use their head, and make
a console pot available. Sheesh!!!
Please, does anyone know how to break out of this cycle?
I already tried Network Reset, resetting the admin password through the
papareclip port.
I'm ot of ideas, it's Saturday, this has caused thousands of dolloars of
lost revenue (I finally ripped the box out, and setup a Digital PC to ge
by, but I just want to know the answer to this issue. We have two
qubes, and putting the HD in the other behaves exactly the same way, so
something in the startup scripts must be wreakin this havoc.
Oh for a console port!
Help!
