What do you mean by redundant email servers?

a.) Two copies of each email, available from different pop accounts?
(If one POP server goes down, there is a copy of each message...)
b.) Two MX records, pointing to two different servers, one of which is the
        delivery server?
(If the delivery server goes down, the other one holds the mail until
        it comes up again...)
c.) Something else?

Not so much what I mean as what the customer means. I'm presuming he means "B", since he was talking specifically about "MX" records in his DNS. POP is of course a different kettle of fish. But will he ask for that after I give him redundant email <wry grin>?

Thanks for your input.
