[cobalt-users] redundant mail-servers

Not strictly a Cobalt-only problem of course, but thought this would be a good place to try to get answers:

One of my clients just contacted me this morning.

One of HIS customers emailed him and told him he only had one email-server, that he needed redundancy.

Of course he doesn't need email redundancy; he needs DNS redundancy; most email servers will wait up to four days for his server to come back on line if it goes out, as long as there's redundant DNS.

9-Net-Avenue does NOT give redundant mail-servers to it's clients. Even more telling, neither does Critical Path, a major email outsourcing company.

But... a customer need is a customer need.

Does anyone on the list offer redundant email servers? Have you ever been asked for email redundancy? If so, what do you tell the users?

Thanks.

Jeff
