I use rsync (http://rsync.samba.org/) over ssh (http://www.ssh.org/)

It is just too easy. I copy to a raq that is on my local network, then
to a machine that has a CD burner (a Mac), and burn CDs.

rsync is also a great way to mirror sites, as it only copies files that
are different.
