RE: [cobalt-users] Cname

I tried that on a RaQ3 and it doesn't seem work. :( The
subdomain keeps redirecting the sudomain's URL to the main
www.domain.com page. I do have one A record in the DNS as
*.domain.com ...would that be the cause?

Also, does a subdomain require it's own IP or can name-based
work?

Along the same lines, I also tried to add a virtual site
with a subdomain in the GUI but the server complained that a
host already existed for that domain. After "not" checking
the option "Web Access by Domain" was the only way I could
add a virtual site to the list...but still, the subdomain
continues to redirect the browser to the main www.domain.com
address. I must have something messed up but I don't know
what.  Hints, anyone??

{reformatted to plain text}

Create an A record for it pointing to an IP you have and a
virtual site for
it on the same IP and you're all set. Forget the C names.
