RE: [cobalt-users] Cname

{reformatted to plain text}

Create an A record for it pointing to an IP you have and a virtual site for
it on the same IP and you're all set. Forget the C names.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Cname

Hi,

I have a web site called www.mdcc.org and I want to use the cname feature to
create URLs like data.mdcc.org, people.mdcc.org.
Cobalt's Knowledgebase does not give a very clear procedure in doing this.
There are four options:

Alias Host Name:
Alias Domain Name: mdcc.org
Target Host Name:
Target Domain Name:

Can someone tell me how I fill this out if I wanted data.mdcc.org?

Also, can I treat data.mdcc.org as if it were a virtual host? Assign users
to it, upload files to it and so on?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim
