PPPoE has been bringing up many issues, I think all the MaBells (and now
MindSpring) are packaging their DSL with some form of PPPoE which really
seems to limit everyone's ability to fit DSL in with their existing
networks. Bell will need to supply to you special software (a PPPoE client)
in order for you to use their DSL. PPPoE is not PPP as we know it (I think
it sucks!). I don't know of any software for Linux that you would be able to
use. I have installed it several times on both PC and Mac network
environments and strongly suggest against it-- too many problems, their are
plenty of providers who will give you the real thing for a couple bucks
more.
