Jeff, A regular cable should be fine. In regards to your settings. I would go to the Adminstrator Site and
go to NETWORK/ETHERNET Hostname should be @Home address unless you
have registered another domain name to your IP address Domain name should be the long Domain name
(i.e. bac1.ca.home.com) Primary DNS would be your local machine (if
you are running DNS) otherwise the first DNS from @Home Secondary DNS would be your other DNS from
@Home Default Gateway is extremely important and
would be the Gateway from @Home (something like 432.43.3.1 – has to have a .1
on the end) IP Forwarding should be checked Primary Interface would be 192.168.1.1 Mask of 255.255.255.0 NAT should be checked Secondary Interface would be your IP from
@Home (i.e. something like 432.43.3.128) Mask of 255.255.255.0 CONTROL PANEL/SERVICES would be your next
stop. Give a range of something
like 192.168.1.2 – 192.168.1.100) - Desmond Fuller |
