Hello all!
I just tried to change my admin/root password. I logged in as admin via
telnet and did passwd. The new password was accepted and logging in as admin
with the new password worked fine.
Then I did try to switch to root via su - and did enter the old password,
fine. Then I did also a "passwd" while being "root" and the comand
also terminated succesfully. I did terminate the whole telnet session and
logged in as admin with the new password, but when switching to root, only
the OLD password worked.
I have done this a few times, but I was never able to change the root
password via telnet.
Then I went to the web control / Administration and did change the admin
password by the gui. Then the admin+root passwords were changed together to
the same value and loggin in via telnet with the new password(s) works fine.
My questions now are:
1. Is it possible to have different passwords for admin + root ?
2. How do I change root password via telnet ?
Thanks for any help
Manuel
