I think you're right, Jeff
I've been reading all these contributions about this 'smtp' problem. It's
difficult to analyse the problems because they are not persistent. For
exemple, one of my client can ' sometimes' send email throuht her aol
access, but sometimes she gets a 'SMTP error' . She's on a different ip
class at every session, so I guess some of their routers block port 25,
other don't, what do you think, Jeff ?.
BTW I've noticed that some people here have had difficulties WITH aol, while
others had difficulties with free isp OTHER THAN aol.
So my advice would be to be carefull with wrong deductions - ( you move
something on the server, and you feel like you've solved the problem, and
the next day another client can't get it's mail out of his machine ... )
I feel like this thread about SMTP is not over....
