Ive never had to use a OS restore, but your saying, if you load it in a x86
based machine, with a working NIC, thats all cobalt cares about?

Nitpick, but actually you just need to load it onto an x86-based machine
that can boot from a CDROM, and that has a compatible NIC installed. The
OS on the "host" hard drive is never touched or used in a Cobalt OS
Restore.
