In my opinion, ULTRA Dev is just a development tool. I'm not sure how the
Mac version differ from the Windows version, but assuming everything is a
like, then there shouldn't be any problem on using Ultra Dev for Chiliasp
code. I did their sample site and code and had it worked on the Raq using
Interbase. You just need to open your eyes wide for specific issues or I
should say, when it comes to complicated coding, then you might find some
limitations. Other than that, there shouldn't be any obstacles on why you
can't use ultra Dev. To get familiar with Ultra Dev, I strongly recommend
that you go over the tutorial (UD4 Tutorial - ASP) on
(on-Windows-not-sure-what's-on-Mac). I guarantee that if you follow this
tutorial step by step without skipping some parts or skipping things that
you knew before, then it should give you a whole idea of the process, which
in turn, will give you the skills to adjust some stuff to work on Chiliasp
(if there were any) but basically, every thing is the same since Chiliasp
tries hard to make their implementation, and objects close to those of
Microsoft, even their eMail extension had the same object name that MS uses,
and Ultra Dev generally follow general guidelines... The biggest bottleneck
on that tutorial is to have the patient on building that sample Interbase DB
to be exactly as the MS Access one, provided by the Ultra Dev 4 tutorial...
email me directly later if you decided to do the tutorial and test it on an
Interbase enabled Raq.

Subject: [cobalt-developers] Cobalt, JSP or ASP & Dreamweaver Ultradev
for Mac
Hi all,
I'm looking for a little guidance on using Ultradev for Mac with a
Cobalt server. I've had an incredible amount of heartbreak trying to
use Chilisoft ASP, and a Chilisoft tech told me yesterday that he
thinks it's just about impossible to use it with Ultradev on a Mac.
Does anyone out there use Ultradev on a Mac with Chilisoft as the
application server?
I'm also very interested in trying JSP, Tomcat specifically. Can
anyone give me some pointers on implementing Tomcat on the Cobalt
RaQ3 & 4 servers? How well does Ultradev work with it?
Many Thanks,
Troy Davis
