hi,
basically our favourite editor is simply joe, so no way out for us.
up to one nasty .pkg OS-fixing update there was all joy: one could
easily use the contributed joe-2.8.rpm some good soul contributed for
mips-linux on the cobalt-ftp-servers, but since then this very RPM
complains about needing a lib which is obviously there:
rpm -Uvh ftp://ftp.kapper.net/joe/joe-2.8-14.mips.rpm
Retrieving ftp://ftp.kapper.net/joe/joe-2.8-14.mips.rpm
failed dependencies:
        libncurses.so.3.0 is needed by joe-2.8-14

ok, so I get the joe-source (v2.8) that also makes fine on any other
linux-distribution I currently know of...

hmm, compiles fine, I start joe, look happy as I have my editor back,
but...

joe simply exits saying:

Alarm clock
[root joe]#

hmm, ok, now I wonder - anyone got any idea about what's going on here?
