We have been succesful using CCE both for creating users in the system via
our applications and for getting logged in user information for
controlling access. We are also succesfully using the UIFC objects for
creating our applications user interfaces. Fortunatelly, everithing is
writen in PHP, so we have the sources to study and complement the sparse
docs (I know, Tim, you are working hard and fast on it :).
On the downside, I'm a bit puzzled about the unresponse to the issue of
having all links to the menu entries in the main page HTML source.
Also, we have had to manually restart cced this afternoon.
There is a bug in the firewall configuration. Once you enable the
fierewall and configure it to allow only connections to certain ports from
the outside, it is impossible to connect anywhere from the Qube. The
problem is that the system doe not generate a rule allowing incoming
packets for stablished connections (! -y). I have sidesteped the problem
adding the appropiate rule at the end of /etc/ipchains.conf.
We have been succesful adding a new property to the user object, but afetr
a more careful inspection of the schema, I have noticed that we will get a
reprimand, because there is a comment at the top of the file saying that
it cannot ne modified without Cobalts permission and that we better add a
new namespace. Will some one be so kind to explain how to accomplish such
task? We are running out of time and the little we have we need it for
developing our app, not for trial and error and source reading, though it
is really interesting and challenging as well as highly educational :)
We also need to as some modules to Apache for an app we need to run. I
don't want to risk breaking the running httpd's (two instances, one
image). So, is it possible to get the source RPMs for Apache, in order to
recompile with the additional modules we need?
And last, but not least, we DESPERATELLY need the .po (source) files for
the message catalogs. A good part of our project's success depends on
having a localized user interface. Not having it could render our efforts
useless.
Anxious-waiting-ly yours, Vic
