First things first, Joseph...
1. If you've been offlist for a few days, that's not our fault. If your
email wasn't working for a few days, then when it starts working again
you should get all the messages that've been waiting for you. If that
doesn't happen, whether or not you've asked the question previously (or
if you're just wondering if it was answered because someone else
answered), you should check the archives to see if they've been
answered.Read the list-footer for a pointer towards the archives.
2. This is a developers' list, for people who create new software to
run on Cobalt servers. It's not for simple "newbie" style questions
about running the RaQ or it's software. The proper list for this sort
of question is the Cobalt Users List. Check the link at the bottom of
this post and you'll find the Cobalt Users List.
3. This subject is NOT simple. It's complex and intricated. It's been
discussed over and over again, and all the discussions are in the
archives. Please study the archives. Then, if you have specific
questions that you're sure aren't answered in the archives, ask on the
Cobalt Users List. I, and others, will be happy to answer you there, as
long as your questions are specific. None of us have time to teach you
everything about DNS from the beginning.
4. If all of this seems too complicated, then chances are that running
your own DNS services is, too. In that event you should probably
consider having someone else administer your DNS services. There are
many capable companies who are happy to provide DNS services (including
one I own), some even for free.
