May be a stupid question but I am new to the Unix world.Does anyone know if
Cobalt RaQ4's support or have the ability to have threaded applications?
Hope that made sense. This will determine whether I can install Interbase 6
Super Server Edition instead of the Classic Edition that comes pre-installed
on a RaQ4.
If the machines will allow threaded applications then Cobalt made a huge
mistake installing the Classic Edition. For more info on the difference
follow this link:

The Super Server does not rely on inetd.conf at all. This will solve my
previous problem of the Classic version blocking all ports when uncommenting
the last line of the inetd.conf file. Which according to Cobalt is the
correct way to start the IB server. Please refer to an earlier post now in
the achieves for further info on the problems that exist with the current
install of IB 6 Classic on Cobalt RaQ4's.
