Are you running DNS for your own internals or for public Internet
resolution? Unless you are an ISP (possibly even if) your Upper Level
provider should do your primary DNS, but you would register your ns
servers with them and other backbone providers. There is an excellent
book from O'Reilly Press called Bind, also the Mastering Series from
Sybex Network Press has a great TCP/IP book with a superb section on
DNS server setup. My e-mail is dave.marcus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and
I am solid at DNS server setup if you would like to discuss
specifics.

My first time on this list :) I am on the RAQ3 by the way,

Can anyone tell me how to set up the dns server, In this i mean do i
have to
register with internic the name ns.fijivillage.com and
ns2.fijivillage.com?
or wot?

My site is fijivillage.com and I want to have ns.fijivillage.com as
the
primary name for the dns and ns2.fijivillage.com my secondary,

Though I dont have no idea what to do or where to enter
ns.fijivillage.com
to make it a valid dns name,

I know though how to set up dns records in terms of (A) records and
so on :)

but the initial dns set up is a mistery to me :)
