Re: [cobalt-developers] Qube 2700WG or Qube2 as Wireless Accesspoint

Absolutely! Being able to demo a Qube with just an iBook and one power
point would be so cool.

Apple are on a real winner making their whole product line AirPort ready.
With v1.2 of the software any AirPort enabled Mac can act an accesspoint.
Hence the new G4 Cube could easily provide the solution I desire, except it
needs a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

A Cobalt Qube with an 802.11 card would be a more cost effective solution.

I can't really afford the time either (or have the necessary skills) ...
just asking if others had thought about it and made any progress.

As Lucent OEM the Airport they have their own ... RG-1000. Same gusts,
different box and comes with Windows software for management. I'm not sure
if the Apple software can manage the RG-1000 or the Lucent software can
manage the AirPort. The RG-1000 has an RRP of A$790 so its a bit more
expensive than an AirPort.

I have no idea what Cobalt is doing with the Qube2 ... is there a Qube3 on
the way? IMHO the ability to be an 802.11 Accesspoint would be a HUGE
feature.

Cheers, Malcolm
