I'm having problems with my secondary name server, I have a domain name

please tell me what to do, cobalt is very unhelpful.

You're wide open here. Lot of unanswered Q's:
Which domain name is registered with problems - mydomain.com or another ?

Which server's IP can't you ping - ns or ns2 ?

Is domain registered with your ns.mydomain.com or ns2.mydomain.com as
a name server for this domain?

Are the primary and secondary name servers on 2 different machines or the same machine?

Regardless of all, if you can't ping either one or both by I.P., then obviously name service will fail !

Resolve I.P. issue first.

Try a Traceroute: use an utility that reports the Rdns info as it runs;
if you do see a report of the proper I.P. by Domain name Trace, then DNS is ok,
your server is simply off the network somehow - different issue.

If you need more help, Could you be more clear please?
Likely why little response to your plight.
Thanks.
