I'd think there's someone there who actually knows why he set the limits
as he did, no <smile>?

That's all I want. A little insight.

We'll be trying twice the default children. We don't have a lot of
sites on the RaQ3 in question, so we're willing to make the try. After
my next phone call to Cobalt that is; I might as well see what their
second-level group says about changing the default.

The customer could solve the problem by allowing me to throw a lot of
hardware at it; he's decided not to do that until he's cleaned and
tested the list.

It's in the settings I've just mentioned. We have narrowed it down that
far.

Fine with me <smile>.

Nah, I'd need to be able to send 40,000 emails; even if you're willing,
you really don't want to pay for the data transit, do you <smile>?

I'm willing to make the change here (as stated above) AND set up backup
MX for him (his own ISP had done it for him, but not correctly) for when
his own sendmail daemon goes down. Then we'll be okay. The problem is
fine-tuning a box that hosts a hollywood website that's continually
mentioned on television and other websites; so it can't afford to be
down.

Only 'cause you haven't <smile>.

I'm the guy who would call up tech support and when they couldn't solve
the problem, say to the happless individual on the other end, something
like:

"Why do you continue to work for a company that can't support it's
products? Wouldn't you be better off working for a company where you
could at least sleep nights? How does your wife feel about your
stress-level when you get home?"

Back in those days I could be very nasty <wry grin>.

But I've calmed down quite a bit, and haven't done anything like that in
years. I haven't thrown anything large since the 60s; it was a
typewriter (a big old Underwood #9).
