You should invest in a small UPS (uninteruptable power supply not a postal
service!) and use this on your server, they are very cheap now for one to
power the 25 watts or so the qube needs.You can also pick them up for next
to nothing on e-bay.
Trust me it is cheaper in the long run if you value your time!!

Hi Paul,

I have an UPS, but the powerfailure lasted 48 hours. And I hadn't configure the qube to shut down: I don't have the software to make it do so using the serial interface of the UPS. That's still in the planning :-) It's indeed cheaper considering my time value. I can recomment it to anyone! Besides that: I've started re-installing the OS and the patches, luckely I have a backup from all user data, and it's not the only system running. The backup system (old suse box :-) ) is running fine, my users didn't notice any differents, but I did: it's a lot of work to keep that running :-) Yes I do prefere the qube.
