According to the Raq4 docs, I should be able to see a virtual website
from this address:
http://host.domain.com/home/sites/www.virtualdomain.com/web Obviously
it's not working. I get a "file note found" page. I've got a virtual
domain webmaster that needs the warm and fuzzys before we move his site
to the Raq. I need a clue. Anyone?
I don't know where you got that info, but it's definitely wrong.
The actual path to a virtual site's 'home' directory is
/home/sites/[home|siteX]/
which is symlinked to by the path
/home/sites/www.example.com/
Under that are the web dir, users dir, log dir, and certs dir.
You can only reach a virtual directory by using it's "real" domain name
-- www.example.com etc
I have seen some people set up a redirect on the RaQ's "home" site to
allow someone to reach a virtual domain before the DNS has completed
propogating, and that solution looks similar to what you've listed. But
I don't think there's anything in the official RaQ docs that suggest you
can do what you've listed.
What are you trying to do for your prospective customer?
