No real damage yet, though since it was reported to have a function where it
opens a backdoor there has been a significant increase in portscans looking
at the relevant ports.
It will be interesting to see what effect it has on SCO's website when it
changes to DDos mode.
There is now a B varient loose which is pretty much identical except it has
had the attack location changed to Microsoft.
Although it's disagreeable that it's been done this way with a virus I can
sympathise to a certain extent with the creators motives in attacking SCO,
should they win that could cost us all a lot of cash. I can't see SUN
issuing new operating systems for EOLed products without any (claimed) SCO
copyright code. Maybe that's why the 550 went EOL when it did.
